Colleague Spotlight: Scott Winser, BFC Key Account Manager

What is your role at The Tibbetts Group?

“My role is BFC Key Account Manager, and on a day-to-day basis I liaise with some of our biggest customers, answering any queries and quote requests for our security fasteners and components. I also enjoy interacting with our certified suppliers, by getting quotes for our in-demand parts.”

How long have you worked at The Tibbetts Group?

“I’ve worked at BFC for around seven-and-a-half years. Over that period, we’ve always evolved our processes to deliver the highest quality for our customers around the world.”

Are there any significant projects which you are currently working on?

“Our new Security Product Catalogue has been a big recent focus, showcasing our market-leading range of stock availability, and I’m delighted that we can now share this valuable resource online and in print.

“The catalogue comprises of five easy-to-use chapters, each tailored to a specific application – Security Screws, Mesh Fencing, Palisade Fencing, Gate Fencing and Post End Caps. This sleek design makes it easier than ever to find every detail you need to select the right product for your project.”

What is your favourite aspect of your role?

“I really value the close, day-to-day communication and the strong relationships we’ve built with our customers. Nothing beats the excitement of winning orders for major projects – it’s the best part of the job!”

Have you worked in this role throughout your career?

“I’ve enjoyed working in sales throughout my career, across a few different sectors.

“I began my career in wealth management, before moving into real estate in Dubai. I then came back to the UK and soon joined BFC, where I have enjoyed being a part of the team ever since.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

“I’m a big football fan, supporting Manchester United. My whole family are Manchester United fans, going back to my great-uncle. It’s been passed down the generations to me, and I grew up watching Manchester United on a regular basis in the 1990s. Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke were my favourite players while growing up.

“I also like watching boxing, UFC, as well as movies and going to the cinema.”

What is your favourite film or television genre?

“I’m a big fan of Denzel Washington, quite a few of my favourites are his movies.”

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

“I loved Bali; I’ve only been there once but would highly recommend it to anyone. It was a great experience. Miami was incredible – I went there recently and absolutely loved it. Dubai is always amazing, too.”

What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?

“I’d love to do skydiving! It’s something which I think would be an amazing experience. I could imagine that the adrenaline would be unbelievable.”
