Product Manager – Stokenchurch


The Company:

Tibbetts Group is a family-owned business established over 40 years ago, with approximately 150 employees across four locations. The business has a global customer base with revenues exceeding £60m.  This position is based at BFC (UK supplier of choice for bespoke components and fasteners to the global automotive, aerospace, security, and industrial manufacturing sectors) in Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire.


Role Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long established and respected business and make a big difference to:

  • Increase efficiencies to provide BFC Sales team with the tools and support to generate new business
  • Improve OTIF (On Time In Full), margins and customer satisfaction
  • Review and make recommendations to current processes to reduce error potential and unnecessary logistics costs


Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all relevant product master data sits on the ERP system
  • Creating new part numbers and maintaining existing ones to the agreed structures on the ERP system
  • Supporting the division in terms of product master data and structures on the ERP
  • Working with the Sales and Procurement teams to ensure customer forecasts are uploaded on the ERP system and reviewed on a regular basis
  • Supporting the forecasting and planning process by ensuring all products are set up to match the customer/product profile
  • Working with the Sales and Procurement teams to ensure products are assigned the correct status to ensure products are being managed by the system or by individuals in the correct way
  • Ensuring price lists are kept up-to-date and structured correctly to support the sales distribution strategy
  • Maintaining and update customer prices, ready for approval by Sales
  • Gather and analyse pricing intelligence on competitor product ranges
  • Ensure low margin products and lost sales, due to price, are fed into the Procurement ‘think tank’ and actioned.
  • Analysis of markets, competitors, and product ranges
  • Proactively support the business, identifying opportunities and provide direction on range and sales development
  • Liaising with Procurement to purchase new products
  • Commercial analysis of product and customer groups and feedback to business on recommendations, such as range rationalisation, expansion, optimum or minimum order quantities
  • Identify areas for process improvements that enhance efficiencies or effectiveness of the business
  • Drive the outbound customer marketing activity, working with the Sales team and Product Marketing Executive to deliver campaigns and promote the business
  • Ensuring regular customer updates are provided for Marketing, detailing new and updated product range information for regular bulletins/communications
  • Ensuring new products are presented and explained to all relevant departments


Skills & Experience:

  • Strong data analysis and management to analyse and interpret large data sets
  • High degree of commercial acumen, understanding market analysis, and entrepreneurial spirit to ensure products deliver on-going sales or customer value growth
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to communicate with a variety of stakeholders at different levels of seniority and knowledge, both inside and outside the business
  • Team player who can work with and pull together colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
